Biography
I have a passion for work that makes a positive change in our world. I’ve worked to enable churches to communicate more effectively, and volunteered overseas to support development and relief efforts through better use of technology. As a developer, trainer, project manager, and IT manager I’ve tried to be the communication bridge between people and technology. Right now I’m working as a remote project manager for ifPeople, a progressive web development company. Their FairSource initiative means I work with development teams in South America.
Process improvement is a passion of mine. Since becoming a consultant, I’ve become a fan of the Scrum agile framework. In January, 2008 I obtained my Certified Scrum Master designation and took an additional course in writing effective user stories from Mike Cohn, one of the giants in the Agile world (he came up with the concept of user stories and was one of the signatories of the Agile Manifesto).
When not working, I’m usually with one of my newborn twins in a sling and playing with my eldest daughter Malia. I occasionally get out of the house for a game of ultimate frisbee, a bike ride during the few warm months and cross-country skiing in the winter. I also enjoy connecting with others online in professional and fun ways.
