Social Media Services
Twitter. Facebook. Connecting, networking, promoting. You’ve heard of the potential benefits of social media and want in. I’ve lived in an online world for years as part of working from home and invested considerable time in learning and using social media tools. I consider myself a ‘social media swimmer’, someone who lives and breaths social media both personally and professionally. Twitter, for instance, has enabled me to find new work opportunities, connect with talented people in the Agile community and help grow a vote reform movement. Social media isn’t what I do for a living, but I use social media in what I do for a living. Make sense?
What do you offer?
The hardest part is to using social media is getting started. So many choices. So little time. So much to learn. I help businesses and organizations save their most precious resources, time and money. Get started quickly, avoid the painful learning curves and start benefiting right away.
Coffee Starter Kit
The $500 basic option.
We’ll chat for 90 minutes over coffee (my treat, get the x-large) at a local wifi-enabled coffee shop to create a plan which covers:
- what your message should be online – how you want to interact
- which types of social media are most suitable for you
- tool recommendations based on my own experience and reading
We’ll then spend the rest of the afternoon establishing a presence on one social media platform like Facebook, Twitter or YouTube. We’ll do the necessary plumbing and create some content to start a specific event / campaign.
Training will consist mostly of links to resources provided online. I’m happy to answer questions welcome at any time, especially if you treat me to something cold on a hot day.
Lunch Starter Kit
Need more than coffee to fuel your appetite for online success? For $2000, you get everything in the coffee starter kit plus:
- Coffee upgraded to lunch (my treat) at wifi destination of your choice. Yes, I do like to get out of the house.
- 2 additional days spread over 2 weeks to get you on the right track. Depending on needs and your priorities we can:
- Develop a more detailed plan for your marketing message, types of social media to focus on, tools to use, how to grow your community, how to monitor and measure impact of online efforts
- Train how to use tools, how to get the most out of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn
- Do more work together to build an initial campaign, create awareness, monitor and measure results
What have you done with social media, Gerry?
I enjoy empowering small businesses and organizations benefit from social media, especially here in Sault Ste. Marie. For me, it’s a way to give back to the community I grew up in. My goal is to enable others here to stay in the Sault and be competitive in the global marketplace.
I’ve written a number of posts on using social media, most notably Twitter.
My first ever class teaching Twitter was a lot of fun and everyone who offered feedback would recommend the course to others.
Yes, glad I came. Helped to reinforce “the basics” of Twitter. Enjoyed hearing about Gerry’s personal experience with Twitter and learning how to use a Twitter application like PeopleBrowsr.
The class exceeded my expectations. I went in with a preconceived notion of what Twitter was. After the course, however, I now know what the social networking tool can do and how useful it can be.
I also worked on a small online marketing campaign for Dear Vivian, mostly introducing Lou to social media tools and created a campaign contest to put them to use.
Let Gerry know what your interests are in social media
Social Media Speaker for Your Event
I’ve given a few talks on social media, and am always looking for other opportunities. Must be the quiet workplace that compels me to get out and talk.
